6.1. - Page 3 of 17
Transportation Advisory Committee
Staff has drafted a resolution (Attachment B) to include language that allows members to serve
in their term until their successor is appointed and qualified. In addition, the resolution changes
the term expiration date for future members to May 31 of the fourth year of the term. The new
resolution also incorporates all of the language from Resolution 15751 which established the
Transportation Advisory Committee on April 22, 2019, therefore this new resolution would
rescind and replace Resolution 15751.
If adopted, the proposed resolution would take effect immediately.
Board of Building Review
Staff has drafted an ordinance (Attachment C) amending Municipal Code Section 2.121 to include
a provision for members to serve in their term until their successor is appointed and qualified.
Historic Resources Advisory Committee
Included in the above-mentioned ordinance (Attachment C) is an amendment to section 40.4.1 of
the Municipal Code to allow members to serve in their term until their successor is appointed and
qualified.
This ordinance amendment also changes the HRAC members' term expiration date from July 31
to May 31. Through research, staff has not been able to identify how the current term expiration
date was assigned and has concluded that it was likely administratively assigned. Through this
action, staff proposes to codify the alignment of this date with the majority of other BCC term
expiration dates, May 31.
Further, the proposed ordinance removes existing Municipal Code language that is in conflict with
the City's new BCC Attendance policy.
If adopted at the next regular City Council meeting, these changes would take effect thirty days
after the adoption, resulting in the shortening of two current HRAC member terms by two months.
Despite this change, current members whose terms would expire would still be allowed to serve
until their successors are appointed and qualified.
City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore
54
