07/27/2020 <br />WHEREAS, on September 12, 2011, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 15143, a <br />Resolution of the City of Redwood City, which established the Architectural Advisory Committee <br />setting forth the decision-making process related to the approval of developments in the City. <br />This resolution also rescinded Resolution Nos. 11497, 12977, and 13632, except as to the <br />decision articulated in Resolution No. 13632 to rescind prior resolutions related to the <br />Architectural Advisory Committee, and said action remains in effect and undisturbed; and <br />WHEREAS, on October 8, 2012 the City Council adopted Resolution No. 15223, a <br />Resolution of the City of Redwood City to amend Resolution No. 15143 as it relates to the <br />composition and procedures of the Architectural Advisory Committee: and <br />WHEREAS, on November 6, 2018 the voters of Redwood City approved a Charter <br />Amendment that, among other actions, allowed members of Boards and Commissions who <br />complete a term without being reappointed to the succeeding term, including instances in which <br />a member is not reappointed to the succeeding term because of term limits, to continue to serve <br />in their term until their successor is appointed and qualified: and <br />WHEREAS, in an effort to ensure consistency in recordkeeping, the City now seeks to <br />include the language from the 2018 Charter amendment regarding member service, along with <br />the language from Resolution No. 15223 that amended the composition and procedures of the <br />Architectural Advisory Committee. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. Rescission of Previous Resolutions. Resolution Nos. 15143 and 15223 are <br />hereby rescinded, and this Resolution incorporates all approved and applicable language set <br />forth in Resolution Nos. 15143 and Resolution 15223. <br />2. Architectural Advisory Committee. The Architectural Advisory Committee of the <br />City of Redwood City shall consist of five members. All five members of the AAC shall be <br />licensed architects or landscape architects residing or working in the City of Redwood City, or its <br />sphere of influence (as described by and in the General Plan of the City of Redwood City). The <br />members of the Committee shall be appointed by the Planning Commission following oral <br />interview and in consideration of professional qualifications and civic interests as the Planning <br />Commission deems appropriate. <br />3. Terms of Membership. The term of office of each member of the Architectural <br />Advisory Committee shall be four (4) four years, expiring on May 31 of the fourth year; provided, <br />however, that appointments to the Committee shall be made such that terms shall expire in <br />even -numbered years. Each member of the Architectural Advisory Committee shall serve until <br />their successor is appointed and qualified. <br />ATTY/RESO.0072/CC RESO AAC RESO.
