members. <br />e) Act as Cultural Broker with the intent to build capacity from all <br />sides to increase communication, trust and relations. <br />3. Translation & Interpretation Services <br />a) Will provide oral and written Spanish (or other languages if needed) <br />translation services translation as needed. <br />4. Training/Capacity Building <br />a) Providing city staff, commissioners, elected officials <br />training/skill building in selected training topics. Session <br />dates, length and frequency to be determined in <br />collaboration with city staff. Consultant will use lecturing and <br />interactive activities to- <br />o Identify implicit biases and how they affect interactions and <br />communication with others <br />o Learn the practice of cultural humility and apply it in daily interactions <br />o Apply a variety of communication skills to navigate difficult <br />conversations and resolve conflict across different cultures and <br />diverse groups <br />o Begin to discuss ways to create cultures within coalitions and <br />movements that welcome, respect, value, and collaborate effectively <br />with people of diverse cultures. <br />5. Internal Project Management Support <br />a) Regular supervision/team meetings with assigned Consultant staff to <br />share overall project experiences, consult on challenges and monitor <br />progress towards programmatic goals, provide coaching around <br />engaging particular sectors of the target population, advise on tools of <br />communication, etc. This support will be given to Redwood City and <br />other collaborative members. <br />b) Weekly meetings with City's staff in order to plan for outreach, <br />community meetings and other project activities. <br />c) Communicate required support (intelligence, relationship connections, <br />research, etc.) for community facilitation. <br />REV: 07-30-2020 VR <br />ATTY/AGR.2020.133/Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center (Page 12 of 15) <br />
