Adopt Resolution of the City Council of the City of Redwood City Approving the Implementation of a <br />Two -Year Temporary Recreational Vehicle (RV) Safe Parking Program for the City of Redwood City; <br />2. Waive the first reading and introduce Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Redwood City <br />Amending Chapter 20, Article VII of the Redwood City Municipal Code Relating to Oversized Vehicles, <br />Recreational Vehicles, and Sleeping in Vehicles; and <br />3. Waive the first reading and introduce Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Redwood City <br />Amending Section 20.96 of Division 1 of the Article VII of Chapter 20 of the City Code of Redwood City <br />Relating to Two Hour Parking. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Housing <br />BACKGROUND <br />At its June 22, 2020 meeting, the City Council held a study session regarding a proposed Temporary RV <br />Safe Parking Program and prohibition of overnight street parking of recreational vehicles (RVs). The study <br />session reported on work conducted over the last year under the guidance of the City Council's Ad Hoc <br />Committee (Councilmembers Hale and Reddy). The Committee and staff conducted numerous community <br />engagement activities related to RVs over the last year, including meeting with individuals living in RVs, <br />and with community members and businesses impacted by RV parking. The Committee also evaluated <br />safe parking programs in other communities.
