From: BCC-LaShonda Kennedy
To: GRP -City Council
Subject: Agenda item 6G
Date: Monday, August 24, 2020 3:25:14 PM
To the Honorable Mayor and City Council,
I would ask that you please approve the Roosevelt Avenue Traffic Calming Plan and
conceptual design and authorize staff to complete design plans and to seek grant funding
for pilot implementation. As a neighbor who lives within blocks of Roosevelt, I would love to
see these improvements go forward. Normally, there is a significant amount of traffic on
this neighborhood street and calming measures would be helpful to maintain the safety of
our citizens. As a member of the Transportation Advisory Committee, I review many
improvement requests, but this particular request is near (literally) and dear to my heart. I
attended several of the community engagement sessions and I am excited about the
overall positive responses from our neighbors. Given the positive feedback from the
community and the need for safety, I feel strongly that this is a viable plan.
Thank you so much for your commitment to promoting safe, attractive, sustainable, and
comfortable access and independent travel options throughout Redwood City.
LaShonda Kennedy
Transportation Advisory Committee
City of Redwood City
www.redwoodcity.org
