Sent: Monday, August 24, 2020 10:58 AM <br />To: GRP -City Council <counciWredwood city. org> <br />Subject: Say NO to Roosevelt Traffic Calming tonight <br />To Mayor Howard and Vice -Mayor Masur <br />cc: all council members <br />Summary: <br />• Vote No on Roosevelt Avenue Traffic Calming <br />• Mark Muenzer tries to propose a failed traffic `idea' from 2010 and recycle it <br />for 2020. <br />• It's only class 3, it's very unprofessional, the community deserves betters <br />What should you request? <br />• Roosevelt Traffic Calming needs to go back to the drawing board <br />• SMC Safe -Bike -Routes -To -School requires a Class 4 Bicycle Facility here <br />(AASHTO) <br />• Red Morton Park requires a Class 2 bicycle facility (AASHTO) <br />• Commute.org requires a Class 2 bicycle facility here (AASHTO) <br />• Vera Bike Boulevard is also just Class 3, years out and therefore an <br />unacceptable remedy <br />Or let me put it even shorter: <br />A "Yes" on the current Roosevelt Traffic calming project is to be considered <br />Anti -Education <br />• Anti -Safe -Routes -To -School <br />• Anti-commute.org <br />• Anti -Carbon -Reduction <br />• Anti -"Climate Best" (still the City motto) <br />• Anti -"Transportation, Children and Youth" (year motto) <br />• Anti -Quality -of -Live <br />• and Pro Segregation <br />These neighborhoods and these kids require several multi -use trails. Roosevelt Cycle <br />Track (Class4), Vera Bike Boulevard (Class 2) and Hetch Hetchy Bay -To -Sea -Trail <br />(Class 1) would be a good start.
