The property became <br />dilapidated and required significant work to rehabilitate. The project initially attempted to salvage the <br />existing structures by repairing the defects and updating the building's interior. As construction began, <br />the condition of the existing structures was discovered to be deficient and the owner decided to <br />completely rebuild the structures. <br />As new residential buildings, the existing infrastructure needed reconfiguration and upgrades in order to <br />comply with current standards and applicable codes. For example, as a residential property with multiple <br />units, the property is required to have one domestic water service connected to the water main on Vera <br />Avenue and one sanitary sewer lateral connected to the main on Vera Avenue. Each individual unit will <br />have private water sub -meters and private sanitary sewer laterals. To achieve the residential property <br />configuration, a new master meter/master backflow will need to be installed for the water system and a <br />new cleanout will need to be installed for the sanitary sewer system.
