6.D. - Page 2 of 8
need to be vacated as the utilities on site have to be private to achieve the residential property
configuration.
ANALYSIS
The property owner's engineer has completed the improvement plans, specifications, and easement
documents in compliance with Redwood City Ordinances, City Standards, and to City Engineer
requirements. Due to the reconfiguration of the potable water service and sanitary sewer lateral, the
existing public utility easement will need to be vacated.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact to the General Fund as a result of this action.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This activity is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as defined in CEQA
Guidelines, section 15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or reasonably
foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment.
PUBLIC NOTICE
Public notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72
hours prior to the meeting.
ALTERNATIVES
The staff recommendation complies with existing policies and procedures. The City Council may choose
not to adopt the resolution to vacate the public utility easement and direct staff to develop an alternate
approach, however, this would delay construction of the housing units and would be contrary to the intent
of the parties.
ATTACHMENTS
Attachment A — Project Location Map
Attachment B — Resolution Vacating Public Utility Easement
Page 2 of 3
City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore
230
