6.E. - Page 1 of 15 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />A,&/ <br />DATE: September 14, 2020 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />Live Performance Agreement between the City of Redwood City and Zoppe Circus <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager to execute the Live Performance Agreement between <br />the City of Redwood City and Zoppe Circus in an amount not to exceed $161,500. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Communication and Community Building <br />BACKGROUND <br />Since 2008, the City of Redwood City has presented Zoppe Circus for the enjoyment of the community. <br />Holding a family friendly program in October each year helped to extend the season of events, and <br />provided an incredible draw to Redwood City. Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) staff <br />leads the coordination and operations for Zoppe Circus. The Circus continues to receive rave reviews year <br />in and year out, and in 2019 the show sold over 12,250 tickets through 36 shows. <br />ANALYSIS <br />Shortly after the State of Emergency was declared due to COVID-19, staff began discussions with Zoppe <br />Circus to discuss what options existed to offer performances in 2020. Due to current health restrictions <br />and the requirements for social distancing, a drive-in option was the only viable way to proceed.
