Adopt a resolution ratifying the September 1, 2020 Proclamation by the Director of Emergency Services <br />allowing Temporary Outdoor Business Activity during the Covid-19 emergency; and <br />2. Adopt a resolution authorizing the extension of the temporary closure of City streets to allow for <br />outdoor dining during the Covid-19 emergency, seven days a week, until January 31, 2021. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Economic Vitality <br />BACKGROUND <br />On June 6, 2020, San Mateo County's Shelter in Place (SIP) order to address the COVID19 pandemic was <br />revised and San Mateo County Order No. c19 -5f allowed "outdoor dining" in cities in the County. The <br />City's Director of Emergency Services (City Manager) consequently issued a Proclamation on June 15, 2020 <br />allowing expanded outdoor restaurant dining citywide on private property and in the public right-of-way <br />to address the serious economic impacts COVID 19 has created for restaurants. <br />A task force comprised of the City's economic development partners (the Chamber of Commerce, the <br />Downtown Business Group (DBG), the Redwood City Improvement Association (RCIA) and RCIA's <br />consultant, New City America), developed the City's temporary outdoor dining program.
