Hold Public Hearing and receive public comment; and <br />2. Waive second reading and adopt an Ordinance of the City of Redwood City Adding Article XV of <br />Chapter 9 of the Redwood City Code to Adopt Local Amendments to the 2019 Edition of the <br />California Energy Code and Green Building Standards Codes, Together with Certain Amendments, <br />Exceptions, Modifications and Additions Thereto. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Sustainability <br />BACKGROUND <br />Reach Codes are amendments to the Energy and Green Buildings Standards Codes with the goal of <br />reducing greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs). Reach Codes aim to reduce GHGs by reducing reliance on <br />natural gas and gasoline and refocusing energy consumption towards electrification in buildings.
