<br />ALTERNATIVES <br />Council may choose not to award the contract for the City Council Chamber <br />AudioNisual/Broadcast Retrofit Project, and direct staff to modify the design and rebid <br />the project. <br /> <br />6.1C <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The Council approved a 15-year franchise agreement with Comcast of California on <br />January 9, 2006. This franchise agreement includes a "Public, Educational and <br />Governmental Access Capital Grant" for capital improvements related to the broadcasts <br />on the Redwood City government cable channel and associated systems, and to help <br />fund capital improvements for Peninsula TV. The proposed Chambers renovation <br />project is funded in whole from this grant. <br /> <br />Funds for the proposed construction contract were appropriated in Fiscal Year 2007/08 <br />Capital Project Funds, Council Chamber AudioNideo System. Funding in the amount <br />of $380,300 remains available.
