6.R. - Page 7 of 10 <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br />As the lead agency, City of Redwood City has determined that the Red Morton Park Westside Renovation <br />Project is categorically exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) <br />Guidelines pursuant to: <br />■ Section 15301 Class 1 "Existing Facilities" for the replacement or reconstruction of existing <br />facilities and paths where the new facilities will be located on the same site as the area replaced <br />and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity. <br />■ Section 15304 Class 4 "Minor Alterations to Land" for the construction of new pathways, bicycle <br />paths, changes to existing landscaping, grading, and cut and fill of soils. <br />■ Section 15311 Class 11 "Accessory Structures" for the construction of appurtenant structures (e.g. <br />playground equipment, volleyball court, seating areas) in a publicly owned park. <br />Furthermore, this project has been designed compliant with the City's Engineering Standards and <br />accepted landscape architectural practices. <br />PUBLIC NOTICE <br />Public notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72 <br />hours prior to the meeting. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />The City Council may choose to approve the resolution or to direct staff to further negotiate with Bothman <br />Construction. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Attachment A — Resolution authorizing City Manager to increase funding to the Magical Bridge <br />Playground Project <br />REPORT PREPARED BY: <br />Chris Beth, PRCS Director <br />cbeth@redwoodcity.org <br />(650) 780-7253 <br />Page 7 of 8 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />227 <br />
