Lindy Chan
October g, 2020
Page 2
of the lower income categories.I Of a total of 706 Very Low Income and Low Income allocated
housing units, the City has issued permits for 124 Very Low Income units and 151 Low Income
units. New RHNA targets for the Bay Area metropolitan area show that 441,176 dwelling units
arc expected, thereby increasing tremendous pressure on cities to increase their supply of housing.t
Due to the overwhelming need for new housing as reflected in the City's lack of achievement with
its existing RHNA obligation, and the increase in allocation under the new 6'h Cycle RHNA, the
City should be more willing to accommodate development projects with affordable housing.
Throwing the Property into the proposed Transit District Plan process will take years, throw a
cloud of uncertainty over the Property, and further impede the City's attainment of RHNA goals
for affordable housing.
The Trust has a much better solution that would help achieve state -mandated requirements for
more affordable housing: keep the Property out of the Transit District Plan. The Trust looks
forward to working with Kenson Ventures and the Minkoff Group on the proposed affordable
housing project at the Property that would be compliant under the current zoning and DPP.
Please add the Trust to any notices or correspondence relating to the Property and the proposed
Transit District Plan.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at your earliest convenience.
Sincerely yyour t,
Robert TifR
Trustee of the Terry L TifB Family Trust
ce: Mark Muenzer
Tamsen Plume, Esq.
Veronica Ramirez, Esq.
'ha // hd / mun'w-develoomenuhousine-element/index.shtnlaccessed September30,2020.
s h p h d / lv-d I r/h - I t/d / b h -f 1060920()df accessed
September 30, 2020.
a994OM39 0
