6.H. - Page 2 of 4 <br />Associated work included mobilization, demobilization, traffic controls, notification, furnishing and <br />installation of project signs, work in conjunction with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System <br />(NPDES) program and other incidentals, saw -cutting, pavement removal and trenching, sheeting, shoring <br />and bracing, dewatering, backfill, base compaction, sidewalk restoration, landscape restoration, and <br />asphalt and concrete pavement restoration work. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The project was awarded for a base bid of $1,682,653.00. The project was successfully completed in <br />accordance with the plans and specifications. One change order was issued totaling $20,079.86. The final <br />contract amount is $1,702,732.86 which is 1.19% more than the initially awarded contract amount. The <br />change order was due to unforeseen field conditions that resulted in additional work requested by the <br />City that was not within the original scope of work, but was necessary to complete the project. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Sufficient funding for this contract was previously approved under the Sewer Fund Capital Projects — <br />Sewer Pump Station Rehabilitation Program. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br />On November 19, 2018, as the lead agency, the City determined that the Sanitary Sewer Pump Station <br />Improvements Project - P.S. No. 18 and P.S. No. 20 met the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) <br />exemption criteria as set forth in CEQA Guidelines Section 15301 (Class 1 "Existing Facilities") and 15302, <br />("Replacement or Reconstruction") of the CEQA regulations. Furthermore, this project was designed <br />compliant with the City's Engineering Standards and accepted practices. <br />PUBLIC NOTICE <br />Public notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72 <br />hours prior to the meeting. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />The City Council may choose not to accept the project or authorize the release of bonds and retention, <br />however, this would be contrary to the terms of the contract, prior Council action, and public contracting <br />code. <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />68 <br />
