There were three
change orders to adjust bid quantities to reflect actual work performed, to enable additional work to
adjust flow line elevations, and to enable additional work to conform paving to provide better drivability
on Winslow Street. The three change orders totaled $8,666.19, which is approximately 2.7% of the original
contract price.
FISCAL IMPACT
Sufficient funding for this project was previously approved through City of Redwood City's FY2019-2020
Capital Improvement Program.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This activity is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as defined in CEQA
Guidelines, section 15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or reasonably
foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment. On March 23, 2020, the City Council determined
that the Winslow Street, Bradford Street, and Allerton Street Pedestrian Enhancements Project was
exempt from CEQA under CEQA guidelines as set forth in Section 15301 (Existing Facilities) because
project would involve minor alterations to existing streets in a manner that does not involve any expansion
of use.
PUBLIC NOTICE
Public notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72
hours prior to the meeting.
ALTERNATIVES
The City Council may choose not to accept the project or authorize the release of bonds and retention,
however, this would be contrary to the terms of the contract, prior Council action, and public contracting
code.
City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcitV.org
72
