Adopt a resolution authorizing the filing of two applications for program funds available under the <br />Pedestrian and Bicycle Program (Cycle 5 — Fiscal Years 2021 and 2022) and committing to completing the <br />projects if grant funding is awarded; and <br />2. By motion, authorize the City Manager to execute related grant documents. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Transportation <br />BACKGROUND <br />On August 7, 2020, the San Mateo County Transportation Authority issued a call for projects for the <br />Pedestrian and Bicycle Program. Approximately $8 million is available for this two-year funding cycle for <br />Fiscal Years 2021 and 2022. This program provides funding for project development, right of way <br />acquisition, and construction of facilities for bicyclists and pedestrians. Eligible projects include, but are <br />not limited to paths and trails, and bridges over roads and highways. A maximum of three applications <br />with a total funding request up to $5 million may be submitted per sponsor. <br />A sponsor agency governing board resolution in support of project applications is required. If the sponsor <br />agency is unable to obtain a governing board resolution prior to the application deadline of September <br />21, 2020 the application will be accepted on an interim basis until an adopted governing board resolution <br />can be obtained.
