6.H. - Page 5 of 11 <br />EMPLOYER: A person who operates a business with a valid business license issued by Redwood <br />City within a commercial permit parking area designated pursuant to this Division. <br />EMPLOYEE: A person who is employed by an employer as defined by this Section. <br />COMMERCIAL PARKING PERMIT: A permit issued pursuant to Section 20.232 of this Division. <br />COMMERCIAL PERMIT PARKING AREA: A commercial or mixed use area designated as <br />provided in this Division wherein vehicles displaying a valid permit issued pursuant to this Division <br />shall be exempt from the parking time restrictions established in Section 20.238 of this Division. <br />Sec. 20.232. - ISSUANCE OF PERMITS: <br />Commercial parking permits shall be issued by the Director. Parking permits may be issued to <br />employers or employees pursuant to the terms of a resolution pursuant to Section 20.238 of this <br />division. <br />Sec. 20.233. - DURATION OF PERMITS TO BE ISSUED: <br />Each commercial parking permit issued by the Director shall be valid for a maximum of one (1) <br />year unless otherwise stated on the permit. Permits can be obtain at any point in the year but will <br />only be valid for the current calendar year, unless otherwise noted on the permit. At the start of <br />each new calendar year, a grace period until January 15 will be provided for permit holders to <br />renew and obtain permits for the new calendar year. The Director shall cause to be prepared and <br />issue effective on or about January 1 of each year, a distinctively colored sticker for issuance to <br />permittees of commercial parking permits, which sticker shall be displayed within the motor <br />vehicle or commercial vehicle for which a permit is issued at the location specified in Section <br />20.235 of this Division. <br />Sec. 20.235. - DISPLAY OF PERMITS: <br />Commercial parking permits shall be affixed to the rear window on the driver's side and be visible. <br />Sec. 20.236. - FEES FOR ISSUANCE: <br />The Council may establish by resolution fees for the administration of commercial parking permits <br />and for the replacement of lost, damaged or destroyed permits or stickers. <br />Sec. 20.237. - TERMINATION OF PERMITS: <br />Commercial parking permits shall terminate upon any of the following events: <br />A. Upon the termination of employment of the permittee from his or her employer <br />within a commercial parking area. <br />B. Upon the closure of the employer's business or relocation outside of the <br />commercial parking area. <br />C.
