From: Terry Maher
To: GRP -City Council
Subject: Redwood City Fire Department
Date: Monday, October 26, 2020 12:02:56 PM
®❑
Dear City Council Members,
I am writing to implore you all to reconsider the recent budget cuts
proposed for the Redwood City Fire Department. Fire and public
service calls are not the place to compromise the health and safety of
our citizens. Yes, they respond to fires, but are also the first responders
in emergencies.
I know first hand what the fire department can do as I had to call 911
this summer when my husband became more despondent and I could
not get him to the ER on my own. The quick response, professional
and caring individuals helped me to stay calm and got him to the ER
for care.
The unprecedented fire season has Californians on high alert as fires
pop up all around us. There are embers in the air and can start fires any
place or any time on the drought parched land. Please do not add to
the stress of a terrible situation by cutting the funds to the fire
department.
There is so much growth in RWC and we need to know the
infrastructure, including the fire department are solidly in place.
Please work as our community leaders to keep us safe, provide the
service we expect and deserve from our tax dollars.
Respectfully yours,
Terry Maher
Terry Maher
TAX PAYER!
I VOTE!
Live, Laugh, Love and Learn every day
