our fire department, against the quite recently expressed will of Redwood <br />City voters. <br />Redwood City residents responded in November 2018 that we want the fire <br />department to be fully funded to maintain our safety, and we are willing to <br />pay and ARE PAYING higher taxes for that. That has not changed since <br />November 2018. <br />You should live up to the way Measure RR was presented to Redwood City <br />residents in November 2018 and maintain funding for our fire department <br />that we voted to tax ourselves for and keep our downtown fire station <br />open (with no temporary closure). <br />Also, revealing this proposal to cut critical fire department funding only <br />FOUR DAYS before you are voting on it is quite improper & did not allow <br />time for sufficient public input at all. Please communicate with your <br />residents in a more timely way that allows us to provide our input on how <br />we wish for you to represent us & vote for **our priorities** (but in this <br />case, we have already responded recently and voted recently that <br />maintaining fire department funding is among our very top priorities, so it <br />should not be among the budget cuts being considered). <br />Sincerely, <br />Suzanne Chowla <br />Redwood City resident for 15 years <br />
