From: Linnea Wong
To: GRP -City Council
Subject: Do Not Cut Public Safety Services
Date: Sunday, October 25, 2020 7:00:53 PM
We are Redwood City residents and strongly object to the proposed budget revisions reducing our public
safety.
Our community voted to pass Measure RR's sales tax increase in 2018 to preserve our first responders. This
is obviously an important issue to the community.
In addition, it is unbelievable to us that there is not enough money to fund public safety given the incredibly
high taxes that we pay. Public safety should be a priority and money should be prioritized for this, even if
that means less money for something else.
Reducing our emergency responders' workforce and resources will put everyone in our community at
greater risk, especially those already with fewer resources like Redwood Shores.
We believe it is not in Redwood City's interest to reduce our public safety at any time and especially not
now when we are currently experiencing a global pandemic and wildfires.
Please save our public safety services and object to the proposed budget. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Linnea and Alan Wong
