From: Lia <br />To: GRP -City Council <br />Subject: 2020-21 revised budget <br />Date: Saturday, October 24, 2020 6:05:31 PM <br />Hello Council Members, <br />I'd like to add to the record regarding the revised budget for 2020-21. <br />First, I am very concerned about the reduction in staff and services for the fire department. If anything, the <br />increased risk of fire in nearby areas suggests the need to maintain readiness to respond as quickly as <br />possible to fires in buildings and open spaces. I would like to see the Council reinstate this budget item <br />for fire services. <br />I also applaud the Council's investment in racial equity for RWC and support redistribution of a portion of <br />the police budget to the pilot program for mental health clinicians, as well as the institution of a Police <br />Advisory committee. <br />Thank you. <br />Lia L.
