6.A. - Page 1 of 17
/<ik
Redwood
CitylCallifornia
Faunded 1867
A,&/
DATE: November 9, 2020
SUBJECT
STAFF REPORT
To the Honorable Mayor and City Council
From the City Manager
Stormwater Treatment Measures Maintenance Agreement - 2440 Carolina Avenue, and delegation of
authority to the City Manager to execute similar agreements for new single family homes
RECOMMENDATIONS
1. By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager to execute a Stormwater Treatment Measures
Maintenance Agreement with SF19A, LLC for the property located at 2440 Carolina Avenue; and
2. Adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute Stormwater Treatment Measures
Maintenance Agreements for new single-family homes.
STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE
Sustainability
BACKGROUND
Stormwater runoff from developed sites potentially carries pollutants into the San Francisco Bay.
Conventional stormwater infrastructure allows runoff to flow directly into the storm drain then out to
receiving waters. Green infrastructure uses vegetation, soils, and natural processes to manage
stormwater, and slows runoff by dispersing it to vegetated areas, by harvesting and using the runoff, and
by promoting infiltration and evapotranspiration. On August 26, 2019, the City Council adopted Resolution
No. 15796 establishing Green Infrastructure Development Standards for new buildings and substantial
commercial remodels in accordance with City Code Chapters 18 and 27A.
City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore
11
