From:
Veionira F m¢
To:
GVft Canal
subject
SouTi Main Mixed -Ilse pmt t
Date:
Malay, November 9, 2020 1158:36 PM
Dear Sirs:
I am sending this message because I was in attendance and my name was not
called,
My name is Veronica Escamez, Executive Director and Founder of Casa Circulo
Cultural. Casa Circulo Cultural's mission is to provide quality educational, cultural,
and developmental opportunities for underserved and immigrant families in
Redwood City, unincorporated San Mateo County, and other Bay Area cities. We
are a community-based organization serving low-income and vulnerable families by
providing the social, economic, health and wellness, and cultural building blocks for
every member of the family's present and future well -being -
As a non-profit organization, it takes a lot of energy, effort, and money to pay for
rent, sponsor cultural events, and provide programs for our community's families
and children. With the high cost of housing, it takes a lot to keep our instructors
here. Several have moved away to find a place where it costs less to rent or buy a
home. The Greystar project will provide much-needed housing, including
affordable housing for Redwood City.
Also, as a non-profit, we rely on the generosity of business partners to help us. The
COVOID pandemic has impacted many of our local businesses. Their straggles to
remain in business makes it harder for them to partner with Casa Circulo. The
Greystar project will bring new businesses to Redwood City, which hopefully
means potential new partners for Casa Circulo.
I support the South Main Mixed -Use project and respectfully ask that the Council
approve this project.
Veronica Esmimez
Founder
Casa Circulo Cultural
Redwood Ci , CA 94063
orrc
