continue good -faith negotiations with JANDD Enterprises, and by approving
the South Main Mixed -Use Project as submitted at tonight's City Council
meeting. In addition, although this won't be considered tonight, I
respectfully ask you to direct that the historic and beloved "SKATE" sign
mentioned in the Environmental Impact Report, that once graced the
exterior of the original roller skating rink, be moved to the new rink where it
rightfully belongs. Finally, I hope that the City of Redwood City will agree to
a complementary listing of roller skating lessons in the Activity Guide to help
advertise it to residents and drive traffic to the rink. The latter two requests
may seem trivial, but are important steps the City can take to continue the
legacy and help ensure the viability of roller skating in Redwood City.
Thank you for your time and commitment to our community, and I'm excited
to see the return of roller skating to Redwood City!
Respectfully submitted,
Lisa Vande Voorde
for Save Redwood Roller Rink
