The desire is for the project to appear to have been developed 101
overtime rather than a campus appearance with a uniform look and feel. ry1 01
The building designs factor in context for appropriately placing building nl N
scale and massing. Sites A and D, the residential buildings, are the tallest
buildings in stories and massing but are also the closest to the DTPP area
where taller development is allowed. These residential buildings would
also be approximate to the existing Franklin Street apartments to the
north, which is also a larger scaled development. The building shapes range from the boxy and flat facades
(such as the EI Camino Real frontages), to the articulated and jagged facades (such as the Parcel A facade
fronting the creek walk), to the rounded facades, (such as the Parcel E facade adjacent to the dog park).
The building heights also add variety and interest, while addressing scale and massing. For example, on
Parcel C, the office at the corner of Lathrop and Beech steps down to a one-story element with a saw
tooth roof form. Each parcel provides a mixture of
building materials, colors, shapes, and heights to EXISTING FLOOR PLAN AND ELEVATIONS
provide visual interest and break down the
massing, but without appearing too busy or
distracting. 77Q
Perry's Fuel & Feed Shed - The rebuilt shed provides -- -
a similar shape and form as the existing shed, but
with a large new opening fronting the open space
PROPOSED FLOOR PIAN AND ELEVATIONS
Page V
City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood Cil
19
