The additional height beyond
60 ft. is desired to provide taller ground floors for a range of uses (lobby, loading docks, fire truck
hammerhead, and other uses), maintain typical office ceiling heights on the upper floors, provide
additional floors for housing, and create usable roof decks. On Parcel E, there is a 6 inch grade difference
which also impacted the height. Roof top decks, parapets, gabled roofs also increase the overall building
heights but add to the variety in design and forms and are consistent with the architectural style of the
buildings. The increased height is only for portions of the buildings, as the height steps down to relate to
adjacent buildings or open space. The project is designed with quality materials and architecture.
LATHROP STREET LOOKING SOUTH
City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore
18
