6.F. - Page 1 of 3 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />A,&/ <br />DATE: November 23, 2020 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />Appointment of former Mayor Barbara Pierce to the Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency <br />Board of Directors and San Francisco Bay Area Regional Water System Financing Authority <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion approve the appointment of former Mayor Barbara Pierce to the Bay Area Water Supply and <br />Conservation Agency Board of Directors and San Francisco Bay Area Regional Water System Financing <br />Authority to serve the remainder of her term through June 30, 2021, and an additional 4 -year term <br />through June 30, 2025. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Excellence in Government Operations <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency (BAWSCA) is a special district created by the <br />separate, but parallel, actions of 24 local government agencies in the Bay Area including Redwood City, as <br />authorized by AB 2058, enacted by the California Legislature in 2002. <br />BAWSCA provides regional water supplier planning, resource development, and conservation program <br />services to enhance the reliability of the 16 cities, 8 water districts, and 2 private water providers who are <br />BAWSCA's member agencies.
