6.G. - Page 1 of 124 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />A,&/ <br />DATE: November 23, 2020 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />Purchase of one 2021 Ford F350 (4x2) and one 2021 Ford F350 (4x4) <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />From the City Manager <br />By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement to purchase one 2021 Ford <br />F350 (4x2) and one 2021 Ford F350 (4x4) in the amount of $225,621 from Towne Ford Sales of Redwood <br />City, CA. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Excellence in Government Operations <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City of Redwood City's (City) Fleet Replacement Program is designed to provide a structure for <br />evaluating vehicles and equipment to replace them at the most economically advantageous point in their <br />life cycle. At pre -designated intervals, vehicles and equipment undergo a thorough evaluation including <br />but not limited to age, mileage, condition, maintenance history, downtime, anticipated future repairs, <br />usage, and vehicle capabilities. This program is also designed to assist user departments in evaluating their <br />fleet assets' operational deployment strategies to maximize operational efficiency. <br />The Wastewater Division (Division) of the Public Works Services Department regularly performs <br />maintenance on sewer and storm system infrastructure throughout the City. To efficiently conduct <br />operations, staff utilize trucks outfitted with specialized equipment to aid in carrying out their daily <br />activities. This specialized equipment includes cranes, wenches, auxiliary power, air compressors, and fuel <br />pumps.
