The historic landmark designation process is a three-step process, <br />which first involves a recommendation from the HRAC to the Planning Commission. The second step is <br />a recommendation from the Planning Commission to the City Council. The third step is final action by <br />the City Council. The historic designation process involves the evaluation of the application and a historic <br />consultant's report in conjunction with the City's historic designation criteria listed in Chapter 40, Section <br />40.6 of the Redwood City Code. <br />The Historic Resources Advisory Committee (HRAC) reviewed the historic report at their August 13, 2020 <br />public hearing. The HRAC voted 3-0 to recommend local historic designation at 970 Edgewood Road <br />under Redwood City landmark designation Criteria B, C, and D (see below). The Planning Commission <br />reviewed on October 6, 2020, and concurred by a 7-0 vote.
