Sheridan
R1 — The Broadmoor Police Protection District recently secured a grant for body worn
cameras from Lenselock through our insurance carrier, GSMA. The anticipated date of
going live, in the field for these cameras will be November 1, 2016.
The Broadmoor Police Protection District will announce this implementation at its next
Police Commission hearing on October 11, 2016 and on its department website
November 1, 2016.
R2- N/A
R3- Notice, the Broadmoor Police Protection District is implementing this system, only
by securing a grant for the first year. Unfortunately, cost to maintain such a system is
expensive and not financially sustainable by the district. Therefore, once the grant
expires, the Broadmoor Police Protection District will separate from the grant with
Lenselock and will no longer participate in the body worn camera program for the
District.
Should funds from an outside source present itself to support this program, the District
would explore the feasibility of continuing the program.
The District is currently researching the update of our vehicle mounted cameras.
Very truly yours,
;hurSt lini
Chief of Police
