Appendix <br />The Office of Sustainability (OOS) strives to improve the sustainability of the County's <br />operations and the greater community by administering programs and developing policies <br />in the areas of renewable energy and energy efficiency, water conservation, alternative <br />transportation, affordable housing, waste reduction, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emission <br />reductions. OOS also leads the following regional collaborations: <br />Climate Ready SMC. Brings together leaders from across sectors and jurisdictions to <br />County of San Mateo Office foster collaboration and collectively find solutions to make San Mateo County climate <br />of Sustainability ready. Builds on the work and momentum of the Closing the <br />Jobs/Housing Gap Task Force. Led by Supervisors Don Horsley and Warren Slocum, the <br />Home for All Initiative is working to inspire community action and promote closure of the <br />County's 16:1 jobs/housing gap. The Initiative's members include representatives from all <br />sectors of the community and are focused on creating a future where everyone in San <br />Mateo County has an affordable home. httl)s://homeforallsmc.org <br />Regionally Integrated Climate Action Planning Suite (RICAPS). A set of tools and a <br />collaboration of all 20 incorporated cities and the County in climate action planning and <br />implementation. https:Hsmcenergvwatch.org/local-governments/ <br />The Flood and Sea Level Rise Resiliency District is a coordinated, cross -jurisdictional <br />collaborative to face impending coastal erosion, sea -level rise, and flooding threats as we <br />look toward 2100. Comprised of the 20 incorporated cities, City/County Association of <br />Flood and Sea -Level Rise Governments, and the County of San Mateo, the purpose of this entity is to create a unified <br />Resiliency District voice, to cost-effectively implement resilient infrastructure to face these challenges. The <br />District initiates new countywide efforts to address sea -level rise, flooding, coastal erosion, <br />and large-scale stormwater infrastructure improvements through integrated regional <br />planning, project implementation and long-term maintenance. <br />https://resilientsanmateo.org <br />ICLEI - Local Governments <br />for Sustainability <br />ICLEI is an international organization of local and regional governments that have made <br />I C L E I a commitment to sustainable development. They provide guides and frameworks that <br />Lacat support climate action. https://icleiusa.org/ <br />Cavemments <br />for S usta ina6 i li tv <br />Local Government <br />Commission (LGC) LGC works to build livable communities and local leadership by connecting leaders via <br />Illlpll111:„1IIII Local innovative programs and network opportunities, advancing policies through participation <br />Government at the local and state level, and implementing solutions as a technical assistance provider <br />MIM Commission <br />and advisor to local jurisdictions. https://www.lgc.org/ <br />Leaders for Livable Communities <br />Peninsula Clean Energy (PCE) was launched collaboratively by the County of San Mateo <br />and all 20 of its cities and towns in 2016 to help the environment through cleaner energy, <br />while helping customers save money through lower rates. PCE currently offers two <br />Peninsula Clean Energy electricity options to all residents, businesses, and municipalities in San Mateo County. <br />Customers are automatically enrolled in the ECOplus rate that consists of 50 percent <br />PENINSULA renewable and 95 percent greenhouse gas -free energy and can "opt up" to the ECO100 <br />CLEAN ENERGY rate that consists of 100 percent renewable energy that is Green -e certified. PCE has a <br />stated goal of sourcing 100 percent of electricity from California Renewable Portfolio <br />Standard (RPS) eligible renewable energy by 2025.
