The Grand Jury Report provides eight findings and four <br />recommendations requiring responses from the cities in San Mateo County and the San Mateo County <br />Board of Supervisors. The findings and recommendations are outlined in the response letter staff has <br />prepared and attached to this staff report. <br />ANALYSIS <br />Staff has reviewed the Grand Jury's findings and recommendations and has prepared a letter for the <br />Mayor's signature that responds to the Grand Jury Report. Of the eight findings in the Grand Jury Report, <br />staff recommends agreeing with findings 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8 and partially agreeing and providing additional <br />clarifications to findings 5 and 7. <br />The City is also required to report action on the four recommendations in the Grand Jury Report. The City <br />has partially completed the four recommendations and will continue to work with the County of San <br />Mateo and 21 Elements to complete the recommendations by end of 2021, if not sooner. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no anticipated fiscal impact from responding to the Grand Jury Report. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br />This activity is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as defined in CEQA <br />Guidelines, section 15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or reasonably <br />foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment. <br />PUBLIC NOTICE <br />Public notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72 <br />hours prior to the meeting. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />Approve the letter responding to the Grand Jury Report with changes. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Attachment A — Grand Jury response letter <br />Attachment B — Grand Jury Report <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore <br />127 <br />
