8.A. - Page 2 of 3 <br />qualified applicants (two of the original applicants requested that their applications be withdrawn from <br />consideration) and appointed two full-term members to the Commission on September 21, 2020. <br />Additionally, during the recruitment process, two sitting Planning Commissioners qualified as City Council <br />candidates for the November 3, 2020 General Municipal Election and therefore the City Council also <br />approved keeping the applicant pool for the Planning Commission and several other BCCs open through <br />January 31, 2021, in the event that additional vacancies occurred this year. With former Planning <br />Commissioner Michael Smith elected to the City Council, one partial term vacancy must be filled to <br />complete the remainder of his term, expiring on June 30, 2022. <br />Staff contacted the remaining Planning Commission applicants and confirmed their interest in serving on <br />the Planning Commission.
