Adopt a resolution of intent to vacate right-of-way, dedicated to the City for public use; <br />2. Set a public hearing on the matter for February 8, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.; and <br />3. Direct the City Clerk to publish and post notice of said hearing in accordance with state law. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Housing <br />BACKGROUND <br />On May 7, 2018, City Council approved a Planned Development Permit and Condominium Permit, Vesting <br />Tentative Map, Architectural Permit and Sign Permit for a 131 -unit townhouse development at 1548 <br />Maple. On May 21, 2018, City Council adopted an ordinance approving a Development Agreement (DA) <br />between the City of Redwood City and the developer, Strada Investment Group. These actions committed <br />the City to vacating a portion of Maple Street in order to allow construction of the Strada townhouse <br />development and for the developer to construct a portion of the Blomquist Extension at the developer's <br />expense. The City plans to vacate the right-of-way only when Strada dedicates a right-of-way easement <br />and public service easement through the development, and the improvement agreement for the Strada <br />development is recorded.
