01/11/2021 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15929 <br />RESOLUTION OF NOTICE OF INTENT TO VACATE PUBLIC, RIGHT- <br />OF-WAY BEING A PORTION OF MAPLE STREET, IN THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY PURSUANT TO PART 3 OF DIVISION 9, <br />CALIFORNIA STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE OF THE STATE OF <br />CALIFORNIA <br />WHEREAS, on May 7, 2018, the City Council of the City of Redwood City ("City <br />Council") approved a 131 -unit townhouse development at 1548 Maple Street (the <br />"Project"), and on May 21, 2018, the City Council adopted an ordinance approving a <br />Development Agreement ("DA") between the City of Redwood City and the developer, <br />Strada Investment Group, as part of the Project; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Part 3 (commencing at Section 8300) <br />of Division 9 of the California Streets and Highways Code, the City Council hereby <br />declares its intention to vacate the public right-of-way being a portion of Maple Street as <br />shown on Parcel Map No. 91 - 10 in Book 67 of Parcel Maps, at Pages 26-27, in the <br />office of the Recorder for the County of San Mateo, referred to in the DA as the "Maple <br />Street Vacation Area," and as set forth in Exhibit 1, attached hereto and incorporated <br />by reference; and <br />WHEREAS, the DA, having been recorded in the official records of San Mateo <br />County on November 15, 2018 as Document No. 2018-088890, provides that the <br />vacation of the public right-of-way is subject to the dedication of a public right-of-way <br />and public service easement, referred to in the DA as the "Blomquist — Developer <br />Segment," and as set forth in Exhibit 2, attached hereto and incorporated by reference; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to said provisions of the California Streets and Highways <br />Code, notice of intention to vacate the herein described public right-of-way shall be <br />published and posted in substantially the form attached hereto as Exhibit 3 ("Public <br />Hearing Notice"), and incorporated by reference, and which includes a map or plan that <br />shows the area intended to be vacated; and <br />WHEREAS, a noticed public hearing on the question of vacating the public utility <br />easement, as described below, shall be held and evidence thereon received by the <br />City Council on February 8, 2021. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1.
