The City Council meeting began immediately following the Board of <br />Equalization meeting. <br /> <br />1- CALL TO ORDER- 7:02 p.m. <br /> <br />2- ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> Directors Present: Hartnett, Howard, Jordan, Pierce, Vice Chairperson Ira and Chairperson <br /> Claire <br /> <br /> Directors Absent: Ruskin <br /> <br />3- PUBLIC COMMENT - None <br />4- PUBLIC HEARING - NONE <br />5- APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br /> A) M/S Hartnett/Howard to Approve the Minutes of the Board of Equalization meeting of <br /> July 23rd, 2001 as submitted. The motion passed by a unanimous voice vote by those <br /> present with Director Ruskin absent. (301) MINUTE ORDER 01-BE-003 <br /> <br />6- STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> A. Appeals Against the General Improvement District 1-64 Assessments for Fiscal Year <br /> 2001-2002; (511) <br /> <br /> Financial Services Director Manager Freeman explained that at the July 23 Board meeting <br /> the Board accepted the assessed values for Gl]) 1-64 for Fiscal Year 2001-2002. Property <br /> owners are given the opportunity to appeal and seven property owners submitted appeals <br /> by the September 17 deadline. The appraiser agreed that the appeals had merit and <br /> compromised valuations were reached in six of the appeals and stipulations have been <br /> received for the reduced appraised values. In the case of the seventh appeal, Mr. <br /> Countryman did not agree with the initial appraisal of $750,000.00.
