Study Session on proposed Redwood City Transit District and Update on sequoia <br />Station <br />Impacts on housing from commercial development consume our City. This project prioritizes <br />developers over quality of life for our community <br />witch creates a significant housing deficit. This re -development report shows how many <br />affordable housing will be built and does not address <br />the actual housing units that would be needed to support a project of this magnitude based on <br />the Draft Report Commercial Linkage Fee Nexus <br />Study. This leaves our City with a deficit of 1,700 housing units and therefore <br />disproportionately displacing residents of color and low- income. <br />Developers don't get cities handed to them like in Redwood City. Why would our City <br />politicians allow for developers to come in to our city and not <br />demand that they pay the actual fees needed to off set the needs of affordable housing ? <br />Please stop the hemorrhaging of our jobs versus housing in -balance <br />Address the need for true affordable housing in our City, put an annual building cap on office <br />development and stop the gentrification of our working class <br />communities.
