The garage is dewatered by a permanently installed
groundwater extraction system and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the groundwater are
removed by a carbon filtration system before the groundwater is discharged to the storm sewer
system. The discharge is permitted by the Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB).
The permit requires periodic monitoring and quarterly reporting.

Proiect Scope

Task 1: Monthly Monitoring and Quarterly Reporting
GEl will conduct monitoring of the treatment system from January 2008 through December
2008. GEl will collect groundwater samples for subsequent laboratory analyses as per the table
below.

GEl will prepare a draft Qua11erly Monitoring Report as per NPDES permit requirements, for the
City's review, prior to rep0l1 finalization and submittal to the RWQCB. The rep0l1 will be
uploaded to Geotracker in pdf format. GEl will provide a pdf version of each final report to the
City. Each report will include a letter of transmittal, a compliance evaluation summary, a
location map, the results of analyses and observations, data on flow and mass removed, and
operational status. The fourth qua11er repo11 will be an Annual Report covering the previous
calendar year. In addition to the qual1erly repo11 requirements, the annual rep0l1 will contain a
comprehensive discussion of the compliance record and any corrective actions necessary.
