From: Linda Kruger
To: GRP -City Council; Council-Giselle Hale; Council -Alicia Aguirre; Council-Lissette Espinoza-Garnica; Council -Jeff
Gee; Council -Diana Reddy; Council -Michael Smith
Subject: Fwd: PETITION to City Council: Sequoia Station needs more housing, less office
Date: Tuesday, February 2, 2021 1:49:44 PM
CAUTION: This email originated from outside your organization. I have attempted to location information pertaining to
vacancy rates in all of the new housing condos/apartments/townhouses, to no avail except for
one site that stated that the area from El Camino Real to Veterans Blvd, including Jefferson
Avenue, the vacancy rate is currently 17%.
We certainly do not need any additional commercial construction, especially with the possible
decisions by the biggest companies in this area to allow their employees to work from home,
wherever that may be. I've already heard that Facebook, Twitter, Square and Zillow have
announced that they will allow their employees work from home even after the pandemic is
eraditacated, and with Redwood City's cost of living here having skyrocketed, these decisions
could have a huge impact on whether Redwood City even needs the buildings - both
commercial and residential - that have been built and approved!
Redwood City is already unrecognizable to those of us who have lived here for decades, and
not for our betterment. Don't you think it's time to put a stop to any additional construction
until we all know how things will pan out?
Please consider the new reality, and stop building.
Sincerely,
View this email in your browser
