A Los Angeles developer wants to tear down Sequoia Station and
rebuild it with 6 separate blocks of development, up to 12 stories
high. This project proposes 1.25 million square feet of office space.
That means 4,000- 6,250 new office workers. But the project will only
have 475-640 housing units -- not enough to accommodate the office
workers or the service workers our community will need to service the
occupants.
Tell City Council to require a balanced project with at least 50% housing at
Sequoia Station!
More details about the current project:
• Proposes 1.25M sq ft of office space (almost equal to the
Salesforce Tower in SF)
• Brings 4,000 - 6,250 office workers to Sequoia Station'
• Includes a max of 640 total housing units, up to only 240 of
which will be affordable
• Does not meet the demand of 1,000+ market rate and 1,000+
affordable housing units the project will create according to
Redwood City's Nexus Study"
• Proposes 3,000+ parking spots, accepting that the majority of
workers will not take public transportation
Additional information and resources:
