February 8, 2021
Dear Mayor Howard and City Council Members,
My name is Jenner Barrera, I live at and I am writing to
ask that you move the Redwood City Transit District Plan forward. As I am a
resident of Redwood City, I believe that this Transit District Plan will bring much
needed improvements. Improvements that will provide easier access to transit,
walkable neighborhoods that integrate jobs with retail and grade separations that
will allow for residence and their families to travel safely across town, not to
mention the affordable housing that the redevelopment of Sequoia Station will
bring. This Plan is the SPARK that Redwood City needs to help reinvigorate
downtown, to bring it to life! It will help connect us, from the South Bay on up into
San Francisco. On the other hand, as an apprentice carpenter of Lu 217 here in San
Mateo County, I again ask that you move this Plan forward, as this District Plan will
create hundreds of good paying Union jobs. Jobs that can help me and other
apprentices continue our apprenticeships, here, locally! The new stops will also
make it possible to get to work if it is outside of Redwood City, without having to
drive a car. Helping lower emissions here in the Bay Area. The new Transit District
plan is something that Redwood City needs and I hope you move it forward.
Thank you.
Jenner Barrera
