Cleaning shall be conducted with the tanks full, and bottom sediment shall be removed. Contractor shall provide equipment capable of cleaning and inspection of tanks, which shall consist of, but is not limited to, the following: • Two-way diver to surface communications. • Complete underwater lighting system. • Full -face mask and dry suit (chemical resistant). The diver shall be totally isolated from the potable water. • Equipment to disinfect diver and equipment before each dive. • Equipment for cleaning potable water storage tank. • Equipment shall be capable of removing flocculated material, silt, sediment, sand and debris from the floor of the tank. Post Cleaning Inspection Following the cleaning of the tanks, the Contractor shall provide a post -cleaning inspection, noting new observations not previously recorded. Post -cleaning inspection shall be considered a part of the scope of work in any tanks cleaned. No separate payment shall be made for post -cleaning inspection. Minor Repairs The Contractor shall evaluate and provide a recommendation of any repairs that are needed for the internal ladder of the Wilmington tank and areas of any of the five inspected and cleaned tanks. The Contractor shall notify the designated representative of the Redwood City Water Division and provide a cost to complete those repairs. Contractor shall also provide the City notice of whether any tank needs to be taken out of service at least two weeks prior to performing the work. The City has the discretion to approve any repairs while the contractor is on-site or postpone repairs for a later date. Safety Plan Work must be performed in accordance with the latest AWWA, CA SWRCB, and OSHA regulations. Contractor is required to submit a written safety plan prior to commencing any work. Warning Signs and Barricades If required, the Contractor shall provide suitable warning signs and barricades to protect the public form injury due to its operations or presence of its equipment on or near the site of work. Schedule of Work and Time for Completion The Contractor shall consult with the Redwood City Water Division or its designated representative in planning its work schedule to make sure the Redwood City Water Division is ready to proceed. Work shall be scheduled no less than two weeks in advance. All work shall be performed during Redwood City's Public Works work schedule of Monday through Friday 7 am to 4 pm.
