Cleaning shall be conducted with the tanks full, and bottom sediment shall be removed. <br />Contractor shall provide equipment capable of cleaning and inspection of tanks, which <br />shall consist of, but is not limited to, the following: <br />• Two-way diver to surface communications. <br />• Complete underwater lighting system. <br />• Full -face mask and dry suit (chemical resistant). The diver shall be totally <br />isolated from the potable water. <br />• Equipment to disinfect diver and equipment before each dive. <br />• Equipment for cleaning potable water storage tank. <br />• Equipment shall be capable of removing flocculated material, silt, sediment, sand <br />and debris from the floor of the tank. <br />Post Cleaning Inspection <br />Following the cleaning of the tanks, the Contractor shall provide a post -cleaning <br />inspection, noting new observations not previously recorded. Post -cleaning inspection <br />shall be considered a part of the scope of work in any tanks cleaned. No separate <br />payment shall be made for post -cleaning inspection. <br />Minor Repairs <br />The Contractor shall evaluate and provide a recommendation of any repairs that are <br />needed for the internal ladder of the Wilmington tank and areas of any of the five <br />inspected and cleaned tanks. The Contractor shall notify the designated representative <br />of the Redwood City Water Division and provide a cost to complete those repairs. <br />Contractor shall also provide the City notice of whether any tank needs to be taken out of <br />service at least two weeks prior to performing the work. <br />The City has the discretion to approve any repairs while the contractor is on-site or <br />postpone repairs for a later date. <br />Safety Plan <br />Work must be performed in accordance with the latest AWWA, CA SWRCB, and OSHA <br />regulations. Contractor is required to submit a written safety plan prior to commencing <br />any work. <br />Warning Signs and Barricades <br />If required, the Contractor shall provide suitable warning signs and barricades to protect <br />the public form injury due to its operations or presence of its equipment on or near the <br />site of work. <br />Schedule of Work and Time for Completion <br />The Contractor shall consult with the Redwood City Water Division or its designated <br />representative in planning its work schedule to make sure the Redwood City Water <br />Division is ready to proceed. Work shall be scheduled no less than two weeks in advance. <br />All work shall be performed during Redwood City's Public Works work schedule of <br />Monday through Friday 7 am to 4 pm.
