James O’Connell
Red Morton Community Park Regional Stormwater Capture Project, Redwood City, CA – Phase 2B
3 September 2, 2022
Administrative Final and Public Final IS/MND with written responses to comments and NOD
Task 6. 60% Project Design
Task 6.2. 60% PS&E
For the 60% design submittal, the project team will develop plans to the 60% level overall. Approximately 90% of
the civil design drawings will be developed to some degree and many will be nearly complete. Specifications and
cost estimates will be prepared.
The 60% submittal will mostly consist of plan sheets to provide more detail than was originally included in the
Preliminary Design Concept Report, and address comments from Redwood City. The structural, mechanical and
electrical design features will be included at this design level to verify pump station sizing, piping layout and initial
consultation with Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PGE). The Stormwater Harvesting system and building will also be
further defined.
The cost estimate from the 30% Design will be updated.
Hard copies and digital electronic files of 60% Plans, specifications, and Cost Estimate will be submitted.
It is assumed that a 60% Design Workshop will be convened at a location to be named by the City, with the
availability of teleconferencing the supporting design team, approximately two (2) weeks following receipt of the
60% Design Submittal. A review comment matrix will be prepared to capture review comments and responses of
all comments. The responses will be meaningful and descriptive enough to allow for the City Project Manager to
fully understand the nature of the comment and how the comment was closed.
The team will support the City with any presentations relevant to the City Commission and/or Council.
Deliverables:
60% Design PS&E Documents
60% Design Workshop
Task 6.3. 90% PS&E
For the 90% design submittal, the team will develop plans with all elements shown and checked within disciplines.
All specification sections will be drafted and checked by the discipline lead checker. 60% City review comments
agreed upon will be incorporated. Prior to submission, an internal QA/QC review will be conducted.
Hardcopies and digital electronic files of 90% plans, specifications, and cost estimate will be submitted.
A 90% virtual Design Workshop will be convened approximately two (2) weeks following receipt of the 90% Design
Submittal. A review comment matrix will be compiled, as described above.
The team will support the City with any presentations relevant to a City Commission and/or Council.
Task 6.4. Final PS&E
For the 100% (final) design submittal, the project team will incorporate review comments from the City and from
the interdisciplinary check, QA/QC review, constructability review, and provide a complete set of plans and
specifications suitable for the bid phase of the project. Drawings will conform to the Redwood City Standards and
ATTY/AGR.2022/Amend. No. 2/Craftwater Inc (Red Morton Stormwater Capture) (Page 6 of 10)
