7B <br /> Page 10 <br /> 2. Inspection and Testing Costs. Cert�ed inspe�fions and operationaf tests <br /> shalt be at the expense of the customer-user. <br /> 3. Repair Cost. Backflow prevention assemblies shali be repaired, <br /> overhauled, or replaced at the expense of the customer-user whenever <br /> said assemblies are found to be defective. <br /> 4. Record Keeping. Copies of records of such tests, repairs, and overhaul <br /> shall be kept by the customer-user for a period of three (3) years and shall <br /> be provided to the Director and maintained by the City for a period of no <br /> less than three (3)years. <br /> 5. Access. The Customer-user's system should be open for inspection and <br /> testing at all reasonable times, ar �n case of emergency at any time, to <br /> authorized representatives of the City to determine whether cross <br /> connections or other structural or sanitary hazards, induding violations of <br /> these reguiations, exist. <br /> B. Director Responsibilities. The Director shail have the following responsibilities: <br /> 1. lt shall be the duty of the Director to see that certified inspections and <br /> opera#ional tests are made in a timeiy manner. <br /> 2. At the Director's discretion, certified inspections and aperationat tests shal! <br /> be performed by Public Works Services personnel or a contractor hired by <br /> the Director. <br /> 3. If the Director does not deem it appropriate for Public Works Services <br /> personne{ to test the assembiy, the Direc#or shall notify each afFected <br /> cus#omer-user when it is time for the backflow prevention assembly <br /> installed on the customer-user system #o be tested. This written notice <br /> shai! give the customer-user thirty (30) days to have the backflow <br /> prevention assembiy tested and the Director will make available the <br /> necessary form to be completed and submitted to the Directar. <br /> 4. The Direc#or shall send a second notice to each custamer-user who does <br /> not have thei� backflow prevention assembly tested as prescribed in the <br /> first notice within the thirty (30) day period allowed. The second notice <br /> shall give the customer�user a two {2) week period to have their backflow <br /> prevention assembly tested. <br /> C. Bil(ing for Testing. <br /> The cost of any certified inspection or aperaY�onal test perfarmed by Public Warks <br /> Services Personnel or by a contractor hired by the Director shal! be included as <br /> part of the next ensuing municipal water bill presented to the customer user. <br /> ATTY/ORDIORD.305 <br /> 041608 7 <br />
