Health& Safety Code §101375 provides that the city
may consent by resolutian to the County's Health Officer enforcing in that city, orders and state
statutes and regulations relating to the public heatth.
Al.l of the cities in the county have consented to the San Matea County Health O£ficer
perforrung fhese tasks for more than 50 years. However, the resolutions andlor ordinances
adYte.t.he cities have hecome outdated due#o statutory changes. We believe that it is in t1e
best interests of the cities and the County to have an updated resolution that is uniform with
thase adopted by all the cities within the County of San Mateo. Updating these resolutions is one
of the steps cities should take to prepare for a local health emergency.
We have enclosed a resoluti.oi for your review and presentation to yoir ci.ty council. If
you have any questions regarding this resolution please do not hesitate to contact Brenda B.
Carlson, Chief Deputy County Counsel at bcarlson cr co.samnateo.ca.us or call her at(650) 363-
4760.
V ery tru 1 y yours,,
MICHAEL P.
