<br />05/12/2008 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1130-345 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />AMENDING ARTICLE 60, ZONING MAP NO. 17 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1130, <br />THE REDWOOD CITY ZONING ORDINANCE, AS AMENDED, TO PREZONE A <br />PORTION OF UNINHABITED PROPERTY LOCATED AT PARKING LOT 3 OF <br />THE CANADA COLLEGE CAMPUS, AS FURTHER DESCRIBED IN THIS <br />ORDINANCE, TO THE R-3 (MULTI-FAMILY LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL) <br />ZONING DISTRICT. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at a duly noticed public hearing on November 27, 2007, the Planning <br />Division of the City of Redwood City ("Commission") initiated an amendment to prezone a <br />portion of the uninhabited property (Assessor's Parcel Number 068-320-340) located at Parking <br />Lot 3 of the Canada College campus, currently in the Town of Woodside, as identified and <br />shown on the map, which is attached as Attachment "A", to the R-3 ("Multi-Family Low Density <br />Residential") Zoning District, by presenting a report and recommendation to the Planning <br />Commission of the City of Redwood City. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act regulations, at a <br />duly noticed public hearing on November 27, 2007, the Planning Commission of the City of <br />Redwood City considered the testimony and evidence, including the Mitigated Negative <br />Declaration (MND) prepared by the San Mateo County Community College District (Lead <br />Agency and the Applicant) for the Faculty/Staff Housing Project at Canada College and the <br />Addendum to that MND prepared by the City of Redwood City (Responsible Agency) (the <br />"CEQA Documents"), received at the duly noticed public hearing held to initiate and recommend <br />approval to the City Council of said proposed zoning. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, having reviewed the recommendation of staff and having considered the <br />evidence, the Commission referred for consideration and recommended adoption of the <br />proposed amendment to prezone a portion of the uninhabited property located at Parking Lot 3 <br />of the Canada College campus, as described above, to the City Council of the City of Redwood <br />City ("City Council" or "Council"). <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Canada College has submitted an application to the Local Agency <br />Formation Commission (LAFCO) for annexation of the above referenced portion of the <br />uninhabited property located at Parking Lot 3 of the Canada College campus, to the City of <br />Redwood City. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council, having reviewed the recommendation of the Planning <br />Commission and having considered the evidence, including the CEQA Documents, received at <br />the public hearing duly noticed and held for said proposed rezoning, finds that the proposed <br />rezoning is in the public interest and consistent with the purposes of the Redwood City Zoning <br />Ordinance. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DOES <br />ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />AttylOrd/Ord.300 <br />041408 <br /> <br />ORD 1130-345 <br />FORMERLY MUFF #304 <br />
