<br />REPORT <br /> <br />6.1A <br />Page 1 <br /> <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the Ci Mana er <br /> <br />May 19, 2008 <br /> <br />SUBJECT <br />Amend the Agreement between the City of Redwood City and the Redwood City School <br />District for the After School Education and Safety (ASES) Program <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve by motion the execution of the first amendment to the agreement between the <br />City of Redwood City and the Redwood City School District for the 2007-08 school year <br />and any non-substantive amendments thereto. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City of Redwood City and the Redwood City School District entered into an <br />agreement for the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department (PRCS) to <br />operate after school programs at Taft, Hoover, Hawes, Fair Oaks, John Gill, Selby Lane <br />and Garfield Schools effective July 1, 2007 for a one-year period ending June 30, 2008. <br />This agreement was for a not to exceed amount of $757,816. The School District has <br />decided to reallocate monies previously set aside for program evaluation to direct <br />student services and therefore wishes to amend our existing agreement to increase the <br />not to exceed amount to $791,207. an increase of $33,391. <br /> <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />An additional $33,391 will be available to support after-school programs at seven <br />Redwood City School District schools. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Council may choose not to accept the additional funding. <br /> <br /> <br />~~--( <br /> <br />PRCS Director <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Christopher Beth <br />PRCS Superintendent <br /> <br />~ <br />Peter Ingram <br />Interim City Man ger <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />1.
