<br />ReSD Agreement No. 200708-170 6.1A <br /> <br />FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE AGRL~ln~1"'111 DJH WEEN THE Page 2 <br />REDWOOD CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY FOR mE AFTER SCHOOL EDUCATION AND SAFETY (ASES) <br />PROGRAM. <br /> <br />THIS AMENDMENT, entered into this 23 day of April, 2008, by and between the REDWOOD <br />CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT (hereinafter called DISTRICT), a political <br />subdivision of the State of California, and the City of Redwood City (hereinafter called CITY), <br /> <br />W'I'J['N'~'~'~'~'J['lI <br /> <br />WlIEREAS, the parties entered into an Agreement for services for after school programs, <br />enrichment services, educational support, after school evaluation and sustainability for Taft, <br />Hoover, Hawes, Fair Oaks, John Gill, Selby Lane and Garfield Schools effective on July 1,2007, <br />for a one-year period ending June 30,2008, for an amount not to exceed $ 757,816; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The funding for these programs comes from the state by way of the ASES grant for <br />after school programs. In addition, the CITY provides approximately 50% of the total cost of the <br />program. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the original term is still in existence, and the parties now desire to amend the <br />Agreement to reallocate the original 3% of the ASES evaluation funding to the CITY to be <br />expended for direct services to the students in the ASES programs for an additional amount not <br />to exceed $ 33,391 which would augment the CITY's share to run the program; and <br /> <br />WHEREFORE, THE PARTIES HEREBY AGREE TO AMEND THE AGREEMENT AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. Paragraph 12 of the Agreement is hereby amended to increase the maximum cost of contract <br />services to $ 791,207 which includes a maximum obligation of$ 33,391 for this amendment <br />agreement; and <br /> <br />2. All other terms and conditions of the Agreement dated July 1,2007 between DISTRICT and <br />CITY shall remain in full force and effect. <br />
