LAND SURVEYING

April 28, 2008

Javier Sierra - Project Engineer
Community Development Services
Engineering & Construction
1017 Middlefield Road
Redwood City, CA 94063

RE: SURVEYINGIENGINEERING BASE MAP SERVICES FOR 2007-2008
W ATERMAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT WITHIN THE REDWOOD
CITY SERVICE AREA

Dear Mr. Sierra,

Thank you for the opportunity to submit this revised proposal to provide professional
land-surveying services for the above-referenced project. The boundaries of the survey
work are described in your email dated April 23, 2008.

SCOPE OF WORK - The scope of work will be as follows:

Plans will be completed with an AutoCAD version readable by AutoCAD
2004, on a plan/profile template with the Redwood City title block at a scale
of 1" = 20'. It is assumed that the City will supply us with a disk of the latest
template. Final plotted text height will be 0.1" minimum.
The topographic survey will include all physical features within the project
areas including curb and gutter, driveways, sidewalks, manholes and catch
basins with rim and invert elevations, grate elevations, manhole pipe inverts
and top of pipe, pipe diameters, water and gas valve boxes, monuments, utility
vaults, water meter boxes, anode boxes, traffic signal boxes, street light boxes,
fire hydrants, electric and telephone poles, street lights, loop detectors, drain
inlets with bottom and pipe inverts and top of pipe, c1eanouts, trees within the
planting strip, fences and signs.
Along tangents, the cross-sections will be surveyed on stations not to exceed
100' and along curves, not to exceed 25'. Spot elevations will be determined
at street centerlines, lip of gutter or edge of pavement, face-of-curb at
flowline, back-of-curbs, sidewalk, planting strip or landscape area, and right-
of-way or property line. It is assumed that centerline station points do not have
to be marked on the pavement.
The base map will include all property line or lot boundaries, right-of-way
lines and house addresses (approximate from City Block Book), street
centerlines, all existing utility lines, existing water and gas services, and sewer
laterals.

965 CENTER STREET · SAN CARLOS, CA 94070 · (650) 593-8580 .
